I am (and have always been) of the school of thought that argues interpretation is more important than correct notes. Yes. So, with that statement out of the way, I will thank you very much for not pointing out my mistakes.
I will do you the favor of pointing out to you my most egregious flaw : rushing. This flaw is on display here with much chagrin.
(I’ve taken out the repeats that occur so frequently in Baroque music. My dinky Windows sound recorder only allows me to record 60 seconds at a time.)
Johann Sebastian Bach: “Musette (in G Major)”
This piece should be played faster. Much faster, but then, I think it sounds cartoonish – something to be found in the background of Super Mario or Tiny Toons. I’ve slowed it down a bit.
From the notebook of Anna Magdalena Bach: “Minuet (in G Major)”
This is the first piece I ever learned when I was 10 and thought I could teach myself the piano. Twelve years later, I finally (even easily) mastered the one measure that has tripped me up since 1996. Amazing what 12 years can do.
